Team up to power up your business
I read an article the other day about new hiring strategies in start-ups. One of the examples was a company that was hiring teams instead of individuals – such an amazing idea! One of the most scary things when you start a new job is: will I fit in with the team? You hope HR have done a good job at hiring individuals that will fit in the culture of the organisation and work well together, but it’s not always that easy.
I’ve been incredibly lucky at F6, where I have a team that, almost from day one, I can work seamlessly with. And the outcome is much better than if I was doing the work on my own. And that’s because we brainstorm, we bring different ideas to the table, we’re not afraid to think out loud, and sometimes, the silliest ideas evolve into powerful ones with input from the team. As the great Ogilvy used to say ‘The best ideas come as jokes. Make your thinking as funny as possible’.
Once you find a team like that, it’s really hard to imagine work without them. And forming and managing teams that work so well together is also hard. So why not avoid the hard work and hire already formed teams? I think it’s such a good idea! And I also think you don’t need to be a start-up to implement these “crazy” methods. It’s not “adapting your workspace to millennials”, or “acquiring a start-up mentality”, it’s evolving with the times, searching for new ways to obtain better results, and more importantly, caring about your employees’ well being. ‘Cause happy employees make happy (and successful) companies 🙂.

Instagram Stories, a new way to bring your business to life
Instagram introduced “Instagram Stories” this week, a secondary feed that lets you share all the moments of your day and content that is available for only 24 hours from the time of posting. The feature is nearly identical to one of Snapchat’s features, also called stories, which helped supercharge the company’s growth rate after it was introduced in 2013.
As you share multiple photographs and videos, they appear together in a slideshow format i.e. “Your story”. With Instagram Stories, you can share as much as you want throughout the day — with as much creativity as you want. You can also bring your story to life in new ways with text and drawing tools.
Instagram’s introduction of stories could fundamentally change the nature of the app that has 300 million daily users. What does this mean for Snapchat? And is your business missing a trick with not using one of these platforms?
Social media and content marketing go hand in hand. Social media is used to keep in touch with your customers. It allows you to follow your customers and potential customers. You can showcase your services and products, and if done right, sell to your customers without shouting what you are selling to them.

From Gangsters to Pokémon Trainers: Finding your perfect Lorem Ipsum generator
Since the 1960s Lorem Ipsum has been the go to placeholder or filler text for designers. Using it means we can mock up designs whilst waiting for the final content to be written, as well as present designs that have a focus purely on visual elements rather than being distracted by the quality of content. Translating as ‘pain itself’, Lorem Ipsum derives from a Latin 1st century text. Today we use a jumbled version that’s nonsensical when translated into English (it reads like this: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit), but here’s an excerpt of the original text:
