The challenge

Capturing new markets

To capitalise on the growth in the automotive manufacturing sector, Peak Technologies wanted to launch their WIP (Work-in-Progress) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solutions into the UK, US, Benelux and Canadian markets.

Their partner, Zebra Technologies, was supporting the campaign, so any deliverables needed to reflect both companies’ branding and USP.

After an essential insight-gathering process, we delivered a laser-focused campaign consisting of market analysis, messaging, content creation, and an eye-catching video animation that would boost brand awareness, build credibility, and drive leads in new markets.

Foundations

We started by conducting focused research to ensure the campaign was positioned effectively and would resonate with key prospects. To ground the messaging in compelling value we defined the target audience and identified their Jobs to Be Done.

Then we dived into analysing the market and current competitor solutions, highlighting any gaps or points of difference. We used this information to craft unique positioning, value propositions, and a messaging framework for both immediate and future content.

Animation

The central showpiece in this campaign was a video animation. We started our storyboard with the discovery that one car has >30,000 different parts. Once we’d nailed the script, our talented designers built an isometric grid of an automotive manufacturing plant, and created characters to populate it.

Then Craig, an animation pro, brought the characters to life, adding movement and energy to the story. We zoomed in to showcase more specific RFID use cases on a component’s journey through the plant, always aiming for spot-on details and top quality animation.

We also created a blog post to engage targets and boost SEO, a landing page to capture leads, and an eBook to inform and educate prospects. Peak Technologies’ consultative approach is a key differentiator, so we wove this throughout the content.

During the project we held regular calls with our client, key stakeholders, and their RFID experts to ensure we were on the right track. This is especially important when we’re talking about complex technologies.

The result

Making a splash in new markets and extending reach in existing ones

Videos are the most shared content type on LinkedIn in 2024. Thanks to this campaign, our client was able to build social media posts and marketing emails around the messaging and video we created, gaining a valuable asset in their marketing toolkit.

This led to an email click-to-open-rate of 127% and a LinkedIn engagement rate of 7.1% – way above the average of 3.85%. Their video post also saw a CTR of 4.1%, smashing the 0.65% average.

The campaign has successfully raised brand awareness in lucrative European and Canadian markets, establishing Peak Technologies as credible experts and suppliers of choice for RFID solutions in automotive manufacturing. The Peak Technologies teams are also using the video to tap into new revenue streams in the US market. It’s a valuable prompt in sales conversations, engaging prospects and demonstrating the different product use cases in a simple, interesting way.
